Fifth year (Jan. 2020~April 2021)
1. Objective

* Dong-A University (host organization): Implement advanced 10-years-old level robotic ethics package by installing AMA software on humanoid robot.

* Seoul National University of Education (participation organization): Verify moral learning module to cultivate moral cognition and judgment ability.

2. Content and Scope of Development
* Dong-A Univ.

- Robot protection package : : Make the robot capable of determining the danger of the present situation through the context awareness function and implement the ability to protect people or the robot itself by the deontology-utilitarianism fusion approach.

- Package of objection to immoral directive : Implement the ability to recognize, deny, or offer alternatives to human orders that can cause unethical behavior to others or the robot itself, e.g., to steal a visitor's cell phone.

- Build Big Data system for AMA in the direction of collection, refinement, re-training, distribution using Hadoop to link the Big Data of the finally developed AMA robot.

- Universalization of ethical criteria from specific fields to general social care area
ㆍComparison and difference extraction of universality and specificity of specific social care robot field and general social care robot field
ㆍEstablishing top-down framework based on the universality of general social care robots
ㆍSupplementing the bottom-up criteria through actual cases in the field of social care
ㆍProposing mixed judgment criteria composed of top-down and bottom-up criteria

- Activity for the preparation of robot ethics certification system
ㆍ Emphasizing the necessity of ethical certification system not only in the field of social care but also in the field of other robots, i.e., autonomous vehicles, medical surgical robots, smart manufacturing robots, defense robots, etc.
ㆍ Proposing a field of Functional Morality similar to the concept of Functional Safety and discussing the criteria and standards of ethical evaluation process, ethical adequacy criteria, and functional ethics evaluation, etc.
ㆍ Preparing a formal organization for dealing with ethical, legal and social issues related to new technologies and convergence technologies in the field of robotics and AI.

- Creation and implementation of demonstration scenarios for comprehensive evaluation of AMA robots
ㆍ Giving a variety of scenarios in which moral judgment is required, and the extent to which the actions chosen by the robot meet the expected behavior is evaluated by experts (a mixture of quantitative and qualitative evaluations)
ㆍ Analyzing the process of judging the resultant behavior of the robot, and if it is more than 60% of the total items checked in the whole human moral check list, it is regarded as a pass in MTT.
